Well I got a bunch of emails yesterday and once again thanks so much for all you kind words.

I also got a few questions, some coming up more than others. I decided to make another video to answer these as it seemed to go down well last time.

The video is just below. I hope you enjoy it and make sure, whatever you do, you check your email tomorrow.

See you then,

Richard

Hi There,

This is just a short video I put together so people could see how I give my dogs a bit of attention and massage their ears. Specifically with the older one in the video during a yeast infection. Doing this when he was in pain gave him a lot of comfort. I could see that he liked it, make sure your dog is comfortable with doing this too. If not just stroke his/her belly and chest, this releaes plessure endorphins in dogs, as does any comfort, and will at least help the dog to be calmer.

Look out for tomorrows video, I’ll be covering a lot more ground then!

All the best and good luck,

Richard

Dog yeast Questions Answered

Hi - I just put this new video up on you tube for you. I’ve had a lot of questions regarding one partricular subject and thought it might be nicer to make a video. It should clear up some of the confusion, it’s also got some funny footage of my crazy two.

I think you’ll like it as a few people are a bit keen to give up the vets altogether. Thats not what this is
about. We need the vets to tell us what the problem is, they are trained professionals, not only that, we must be
certain that it’s a yeast infection and not something else.

Anyway, no point explaining it here, thats why I made a video for you!

All you have to do is watch the video. If the video above won’t work try this link and it should start playing for you.

Enjoy!

Richard.

Wow…Thank you all so much for the fantastic book title suggestions. I really had an enormous struggle to come up with a winner and I have to say the amount of high quality titles given to me frankly embarassed me that I was so unable to to come up with my own suggestion!

I had originally planned to get the results out this Sunday but by the time I went to bed I was no closer than I was in the morning. Having said that I had got it down to the final two. It was no better this morning either but my man induced indecision had to be put to one side and I finally picked a winner!

Again thank you everyone for your suggestions, you have all really helped me out. But there can be only one winner and that is……(drum roll)……

Jamie Aranda with “Yeast No More. A Guide To A Happy Dog With Healthy Ears.”

Congratulations Jamie! Your book and the free goodies that come with it will be sent to you asap. I also decided to have a second place prize (which I need to decide on) for Dan Baron for his great suggestion. You two we’re very close. Having said that every suggestion entered was a definate potential, they were all that good.

As I said In the email I have an extract from the new book and a new technique I have yet to share with you. Please note I have not tested this on my dogs because of their lack of yeast infections now! However this was recommended to me by a number of people including a vet. It’s been used for years on humans with great effect and it apparently has the same effect on dogs. It’s called “Pau D’arco” and I hope I didn’t butcher the name there! Below is the extract from the book. Please note there’s a lot more in the book and it’s not long now!

“A lot of health food shops sell “anti-microbials” to help us humans fight yeast infections. Take a look at “Pau D’arco”. Candida Albicans which is responsible for yeast infections has been wiped out in tests by the Pau D’arco herb and has been used to treat humans for years. Clinical studies have showed strong activity against bacteria, yeasts and fungi. Ask you vet before feeding your pets any herbal remedies but do look into this as it attacks the yeast infection at it’s root.”

Ok thats all. I have recommended this to some friends and one used this last week on a mild yeast infection with very fast results. Anyway thank you all so much once again for your great suggestions and thank you all for the lovely comments I’ve had via email. It’s been very touching,

Warmest regards as always to both you and your dog/s

Richard

Hello everyone,

I think I now have, just about all the comments on the blog and emails compiled and the decision making has begun. And let me tell you it’s difficult!

Before I had brain freeze over what to call the dog yeast book, if that was bad now I’m really confused with all these fantastic suggestions! But thats a nice problem to have. I’ll let people carry on tonight, then tommorrow I will decide our winner!

Stay tuned for the results!

Hi there,

It’s been really tough so far, we had a problem with the blog and most people had to email me there suggestions. The sheer quality of the results have made it very difficult. I have enlisted some help and have decided to keep the competition open a touch longer so everyone can post there suggestion now the technical stuff is cleared up!

Go to the post below “COMPETITION”, click on the comments tab, scroll to the bottom of the suggestions and enter your book title suggestion.

Thank you all so much and good luck!

Watch this space!

Hi all,

I hope your all very well during these difficult times and that your dog hasn’t sprung a yeast infection to further dent the finances. What with all the redundancies that are happenning over here (me included!) the last thing we need right now are added and unexpected expenses.

On that note I have some good news. After 6 long months I am finally approaching the finish line to my dog ear yeast infection book. This book gives you all the ways I’ve found and used to successfully eradicate yeast ear infections in my dogs for over two years now.

But I have a problem!

I don’t have a clue what to call the book!

I thought of “dog yeast infection gone” but as my wife said “Thats Rubbish!”,… but then failed to come up with any alternatives! And to be honest thats about as far as I got. I thought of everything except the name of the book!

Which is where I thought I’d ask for your help. I’d like you to go to the comments section below and add what you think would be a catchy and relevant title to the only book available today on naturally curing dog ear yeast infections!

The person whose entry is used for the title of the book will get a FREE copy of the book and the two top secret dog health books that come with it! You can even be credited in the book as being the title creator!

….I’ll even autograph the book! (though this is unlikely to add value!)

Anyway, go to the comments section now and leave your suggestion. I really value your opinion here as fellow dog owners and desperately need to come up with something better than my pathetic attempt!

GOOD LUCK!

To your health,

Richard.

Ps. If you want a bit of humour take a look at the post below this with the talking dogs. Better still let your dogs see and hear the video, my two couldn’t take their eyes off it!

Ok Team,

Back to basics. I was just looking around for some new information and I came across this article you may like in order to understand the basics of the whole yeast infection dog monster!

Dog Yeast Infection
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Peter_Gitundu]Peter Gitundu

Many pet owners have wondered about the constant itching on their dogs and they wish they can do something about it. You do not have to wonder anymore because your dog might be suffering from yeast infection. Yeast is very much present in dogs and the kind that causes dog yeast infection is called malasezzia pachydermatis. The most common areas that you are likely to find an infection is in the ears and skin. The organism that causes the infection was discovered not less than 10 years ago and people are more aware when their dogs start to experience symptoms.

Some of the most common dog yeast infection symptoms that you need to look out for are constant itching of the ears, lesions on the skin, hair loss on the affected area, soreness and a certain odor from the affected areas. There are several things that can cause the development if malasezzia and the most common are allergies to food, pollen, fleas and others. This is because they disrupt the normal formation and function of sebum. Also, if your dog has an under active thyroid gland they are likely to suffer from the infection. If your dog has had treatment using antibiotics, there is a big likelihood that they might suffer from it.

When your dog has the infection, the veterinarian will have to treat the underlying problems if there are any like thyroid problems and allergies. There is anti fungal treatment for the problem in dogs and some of the cures include ketaconazole, fluconazole and others. The oral treatment will ensure that your dog recovers quick and all you have to do is to follow every instruction that will be recommended by the pet doctor. There are very many things you can do to make sure that you keep your dog free from the infection. The first thing will be to keep in mind that the fungus thrives and multiplies in warm and moist areas.

Therefore, keep your dog dry and clean at all times to avoid dog yeast infection. Also make sure you feed your dog with the right nutrients because pet infection can also be caused by a weakened immune system. You need to identify key areas and pay specific attention to them. This includes the ears and the rare end area. You will find many helpful tips on home remedies to treat it and one example will require the following products boric acid, rubbing alcohol and glycerin. You are required to rub the remedy on the affected area so that future infections can be prevented. There is no doubt that when you have the necessary information, you will keep your beloved four legged friend happy at all times.
